Following Arsenal’s 1-0 victory over Brentford, a moment was noticed, leading some Arsenal supporters to speculate that Aaron Ramsdale may have played his final game for the team.

The Gunners went to the top of the Premier League on Saturday evening thanks to the victory, with Kai Havertz scoring his first goal for the club to secure the result late on.

The match was also notable for the return to the side of Ramsdale, who hadn’t played a Premier League match since the 3-1 win over Manchester United on September 3.

His return to the XI was because of David Raya’s unavailability, with the Spaniard ineligible for the clash due to being on loan from Brentford.

There was a hairy moment for the England international in the first half, when he deliberated over a pass and was intercepted by Yoann Wissa.

However, Declan Rice managed to get on the line to block Bryan Mbeumo’s subsequent shot, with Ramsdale already beaten.

The Arsenal shot-stopper did recover from that moment, and made three saves along with his clean sheet.

But following the game, there was a brief incident that gave some Arsenal supporters hope that he wouldn’t suit up for the team ever again.

Following the sound of the final whistle, Ramsdale was surrounded and hugged by Arsenal players, including goal scorer Havertz.

And while that did appear to be a show of support to a shot-stopper who has had a challenging past two months, some Arsenal fans believe there may be a deeper meaning to those interactions.

One fan wrote: “Felt like a goodbye. Hated it.”

A second said: “I feel quite emotional reading this because he did so much for this club and now he could be leaving so abruptly.”

A third added: “Feel like you could tell from his reaction that even he himself knows it.”

Do you think Ramsdale will leave Arsenal in January, or stay at the club? Let us know in the comments.
