In addition, Jada refused to listen to either sound medical advice or what her lover suggested, Leo’s good deed did go punished, and Eric rode to Nicole’s rescue just a hair too late.
Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what happened.
Special Delivery
Though it took some doing, Leo eventually convinced Dimitri that there was a difference between being heartless and cold and heartless and cold.
Of course, they HAD to help Nicole. Even if it meant risking their freedom to do so.
Nicole was grateful-ish. Her makeshift midwives were still the “morons” who drove her off the road.
But, needs must and all that. Leo found himself recruited into catching the baby as he made his exit and did a most admirable job.
Post delivery, Mr. Stark could but beam. For the first time in his life, he felt important, like he had a purpose.
Even Dimitri was pretty darned impressed by it all. But, what to do with mother and child now?
Nicole was too injured from the crash to risk moving. The babe, however, was premature and needed medical attention.
Leo volunteered Dimitri to deposit the wee one at University Hospital while he stayed behind with Nicole till help arrived.
When Dimitri briefly refused, Leo pointed out that they were earning a butt-load of Karma.
Maybe enough to get away forever. The world would really owe them one. Dimitri agreed, but his efforts were stymied by Rafe’s presence.
So, Dimitri exited the hospital and found himself outside Sloan and Eric’s abode, baby in hand.
A most ironic moment, seeing as how Sloan was insisting to Melinda that she just had to tell Eric that Nicole was having his baby.
A Woman’s Work Is Never Done
In an effort to end Rafe’s clucking like a mother hen, Jada agreed to a once-over from a physician — but she wasn’t happy about it.
However, all she really wanted to do was get back out there and go hunting for Leo — who she actually had to admit saved her bacon — and Dimitri.
So, it probably came as only a small shock when she hightailed it out of her hospital room and got to tracking.
And, who should she find in the park behind the building but Leo?!!
Holly was horrified to hear from EJ that her mother may or may not have been in a car accident.
While he took off to search for his wife himself, Holly abandoned what was supposed to be her post and headed for the Bady Pub.
There, she ran into Eric and Tate.
Tate’s mention of location-sharing data prompted Holly to remember that she and Nicole had done that.
Soon the trio knew of Nicole’s last verified location — “a pretty remote spot” that Eric knew well.
In no time flat he was by Nicole’s side and listening as she recalled giving birth.
Unfortunately, she didn’t seem to remember where or what happened to her baby.
